tips on rushing
by: I need helpI'm from San Diego and I'm planning on rushing in the fall. I don't have any legacy but I know some people who can write me rec letters for some sororities. I really need some tips on rushing! Like what do some sororities look for and if I even have a chance of getting into one.
#1 by: Hi!
First off welcome to Auburn! Second, the emails that you will get over the summer from Jill Moore will be extremely helpful when it comes to rushing. But for now, know that you are expected to be yourself and make eye contact and always have a positive attitude. Also, my biggest struggle during rush week last year was the heat...its very hot outside during rush so be sure to do your hair with that in mind, and bring lots of deodorant and facial wipes. Good luck this year and WAR EAGLE!

Take everything with a light heart and know that you will end up in the house you are meant to be in!!! You might get cut from a sorority really liked only to end up in one with your sisters for life!! Don't let this process take too much of a toll on your emotions!
Also, it's a great idea to make friends with your rush group!! These girls will be your companions for those six days and you could end up being sisters with some of them! Y'all are all going through this together.

War eagle! So excited you're coming to Auburn and are planning on rushing! My biggest tip, especially as an out-of-stater like you, is to NOT READ ANYTHING about what people say about the reputations of each sorority on this site. While some of the posts are positive, take everything with a grain of salt. You should be rushing in hopes of finding the sisterhood that is the best for you, where you will find your bridesmaids and best friends, somewhere that betters you as a person and makes you proud to wear their letters. That has absolutely nothing to do with "how good" a sorority is. Come in with an open mind, knowing that some sororities LOVE out of state girls while others tend to stick with those from the southern area. That's not to say you'll have a bad chance at getting a bid - there's some statistic that like only 2% of girls that rush don't get a bid when they've maximized their options.
Show up and put your best foot forward, BE YOURSELF!!, and know that no matter what happens during the week you will end up where you're meant to be!!
Good luck and can't wait to see you in the fall!
