UNPOPULAR OPINION: i love my bottom tier sorority

people get so caught up in the rankings and getting into a “top tier” chapter but i’m going to be real for a second. i ended up in a “bottom tier” sorority and i love it. i have friends in phi mu and alpha gam and they are always complaining that they can’t do anything and they have to fit a certain image. but i have never felt pressured into being someone i’m not in my chapter. don’t get me wrong, my chapter has a lot of problems, our officer team isn’t really the best and most of them don’t really care about actually improving our chapter and our recruitment is probably going to suffer because of our reputation and the hole we are digging ourselves out of now. but i have nothing but love for my sisters and i would do anything for any one of them. i don’t feel pressured to change my hair or buy expensive clothes and i’ve never once felt isolated because i’m from a working class family and have to work through school. to the incoming freshman, keep your options open. recruitment is a very narrow glimpse into each chapter and there is a lot more going on behind the scenes that you don’t see, both good and bad
