websites
by: future pnmAs a girl that will be coming through rush this year I love looking at the sorority websites and FB pages. Some sororities do a great job keeping their sites updated. Some sites look like they haven't been touched in years. It really influences how I see each house. If they don't take time to update their member list or they have a recruitment schedule from 2011 it kind of says that maybe they don't care much about how they present themselves to the community. Am I wrong?

I hope those rude responses are not made by anyone from Auburn Panhellenic.
To answer the question -- it is a good idea to look at each sororities' web page to learn about their philanthropies, activities, etc... I would not judge a sorority based on whether the member lists are updated.

Also know that some sites have been abandoned for newer web servers. Some sororities don't update their page theough their national organization because they prefer to have their own designs, and these new individual sites may not be the first result that comes up on Google.
Moral of the story: you wouldn't want them to make incorrect assumptions of you based solely on your online presence, so don't judge them solely on theirs.

to judge any of the groups because some of the pictures are old. You've got to realize that those web pages are made up to show you what the sorority does and the fun they have each year, not necessarily with new pictures each year. None of them are going to place any bad looking pictures on the sites, so basically you are going to be looking at exciting and fun images. It was easier to transport pictures when everyone had cameras and they turned in pictures, now all the pictures are on phones and it is a little more technical for the sororities to get new pictures to post. Just look when you come to rush and base your likes, or dislikes, on that and hopefully you'll bond with the group that wants you. Good luck!

It's harder to get pictures from phones than from cameras?? Did you really say that?
