What sororities may COB
by: CobI don't love my choices. What sororities have done COB in past. I heard chi o and DG did last year but do others do it too? How many usually participate and how many bids are given out?

It’s important to ask yourself why you think you would see more agreeable choices via COB as opposed to formal recruitment.
If you believe the pressure and hectic pace of recruitment have caused you to underperform, COB may be an option.
If you are confident that you have connections in your preferred houses who couldn’t push you through during formal but may be better able to advance your cause IF those houses are in a position to COB, then it’s something to think about.
Being completely honest here: If there’s any sense that you are “better than” or “too good for” the houses who have welcomed you… it’s very likely that COB won’t be any more productive.
I would encourage you to do your absolute best to see what is special, unique, or promising about the houses that are asking you back. They see something in you, and if you have confidence in yourself that should make them stand out.
Best of luck…

Y'all, COB is not a second mini rush. It stands for Continuous Open Bidding, which means that any sorority can offer a bid at any time to anyone if they are not at Chapter Total, which is not the same as Quota during rush. Chapter Total is recalculated for all the sororities in the weeks after recruitment is over. Some sororities may have openings, some may not, and those that do may not really care too much about filling them. There is not a COB week, or an organized spring rush, or anything like that, and most of those bids outside of formal recruitment are just given to girls that a sorority already knows and likes, so don't expect an announcement that sororities are looking to COB unless they are looking for more than a handful of new members. Your best chance for a bid is formal recruitment.

There is some wrong information on this thread. If you single intention bid (suicide), you are not COB eligible. If you sign that card and have two houses left at pref and pick just one, you are not eligible for COB. You will not be able to go through recruitment again until next primary recruitment period.
