Required GPA for rush?

by:

What GPA do most houses require? Will you get dropped for a 3.0 to a 2.85? How low is too low? Are there some houses that are less concerned about GPA?

3.0 at the very least, really a 3.5 if you want to be considered for anything and 4.0+ if you want more options. Of course if you have a strong connection (sister/cousin/VERY close friend) grades can be over looked but it doesn’t mean that they won’t notice. Keep in mind gpa varies from school to school and sororities will consider the difficulty of your high school

Grades aren’t the only thing. You can have a 4.0 at a good school and get dropped from it all if you have no activities or you’re not personable…

Are you trying to rig it to KD?

Unfortunately for many sororities, minimum GPAs are set by their nationals and there's not a lot they can do about them. And rush is very competitive. Go into it open-minded and put your best foot forward.

Bumping this to see if it is the consensus.

4.0 and lots of connections if you want alpha gam, chi o, or adpi. There are so many girls going through rush that cutting for grades is the easiest first step unfortunately.

This is true, and I would also add KD, AOII, and Phi Mu. These 6 are the strongest and can pick and choose accordingly. Grades are the first cut.

Unless you have connections, the first cut after ice water teas is most often everyone under XX GPA. And many sororities cut high. It's a lot to do with complicated stuff like return rates and all that. Your Pi Chi will be able to explain. But, like others have said, be yourself and be your best and be open-minded.
