Sorority Dirty Rush

by: stop it

Dirty rushing is NOT when sororities already have some PNM's in mind that they are very interested in before recruitment, maybe already to the point of thinking they could very likely offer them a bid come pref round. That's a sorority's prerogative and a quite normal part of membership selection. What dirty rushing IS, is violating the no-contact period, sending notes or gifts to PNM's, promising a PNM that she will be invited back or will get a bid (different from an active saying she, as an individual member, "hopes" to see a PNM again,) hot boxing during a round, or talking bad about another sorority or another PNM. So please get your facts straight. PNM's with connections, who already know members, and have attention-getting qualifications do have an advantage during membership selection, because why wouldn't they? There's absolutely nothing 'dirty' about that. Yeah, those PNM's are already on the radar. Can't be helped. But NOTHING is decided until recruitment, ANYTING can happen, and you will have your chance to impress and find your home. So focus on what you can control, and that's YOU and presenting YOUR BEST.

Like Alpha Chi hosting a tea this summer for PNMs and telling them to “not talk about it.... that’s dirty rushing!

No sorority at Auburn would even think about doing this. Sub-par trolling at its worst.

My future suite mate was invited - asked the rest of us if we were invited too. We weren't. A little pissed but not trolling!

Then report it. Go ahead. But you won't because no such thing happened. You're just posting to yourself on here.

Yes. Some are really hard to get bids from and are known for picking the girls they want before rush but it’s not dirty rushing. Unless you are going for KD, PM, AOII, ADPI, XO, or AGD you don’t need to worry about getting the bid you want.

You have no idea if it has been reported it or not - nothing fiercer then several southern mamas who are mad. But to make a broad, sweeping, statement that an Auburn sorority would never dirty rush is a hasty generalization that proves to be a fallacy. Every single group on that campus is capable of doing all kinds of things - good and bad. It may not have been "approved" by the chapter. It may have been "local" members inviting "friends" over. It may have been organized by local alums. They held a tea. Period.

You sound like you have absolutely no facts but do have a bone to pick with the Auburn sorority community on "that campus." Did your daughter not get the Auburn sorority you think she 'deserved???'
