ka pledgeship is over?
by: tfmSo I'm hearing everywhere that KAs pledgeship this year is ending after 2 weeks because they broke a pledge's ribs. Is that true or just another bs rumor?

You're not following. Their pledges are being initiated. All normal operations will stop until any sort of investigation completes for damage control purposes. They will probably not even have parties until that is over. Once that is complete, IF they make it through that unscathed, then yeah they will resume hazing their new initiates because they didn't 'earn' brotherhood. KA is known for that sort of recklessness.

Someone needs to realize there are laws in the state of Alabama (hopefully some people follow them) regarding hazing.
(c) No person shall knowingly permit, encourage, aid, or assist any person in committing the offense of hazing, or willfully acquiesce in the commission of such offense, or fail to report promptly his knowledge or any reasonable information within his knowledge of the presence and practice of hazing in this state to the chief executive officer of the appropriate school, college, university, or other educational institution in this state. Any act of omission or commission shall be deemed hazing under the provisions of this section.
(d) Any person who shall commit the offense of hazing shall be guilty of a Class C misdemeanor as defined by Title 13A.
(e) Any person who participates in the hazing of another, or any organization associated with a school, college, university, or other educational institution in this state which knowingly permits hazing to be conducted by its members or by others subject to its direction or control, shall forfeit any entitlement to public funds, scholarships, or awards which are enjoyed by him or by it and shall be deprived of any sanction or approval granted by the school, college, university, or other educational institution

First of all, all of these accusations being dealt are not yours to dish out, if you weren't there, or were not involved in the particular nights activities, then word of mouth is your only source, so please do not spread a rumor that you have no proof of even happening. We personally like the KA's and would hate to see their reputation go down due to a stupid rumor. Since all of you are not part of the fraternity and were not there, please keep your mouth shut and stop spreading rumors that are not true.

I actually have personally confirmed that a KA brother actually did kick a pledges rib cage to the point that he had to go to the hospital. Whether he actually broke his ribs and caused internal bleeding, I don't know. Because of this, KA is being forced to initiate their pledges and are being very careful and under the radar for now until IFC and Auburn finish their investigation. If IFC finds hard evidence that this was a result of hazing, then the least they will do is put KA on probation. The worst they will do is kick KA off campus. For now, all we can do is sit back and wait to see what happens.

The swaps and certain pledgeship characteristics will continue, but the pledges are being initiated. They will just handle certain pledgeship aspects as brothers. Honestly, they probably will still carry out some sort of pledgeship after they initiate the pledges.

That is the perfect description of KA's! Only certain sororities are received well there. Those sororities fit perfectly with them and are also arrogant.

Case then you know their pledges will have it worse now than before the incident. Probably going to get some sort of punishment for that too.
