sorority grade requirements for pnms

Do sororites still 'cut for grades' during rush? I know we did in my day (late 80s, early 90s). And what would the minimum acceptable GPA be?

They do! I think below 3.0 is the absolute minimum but most want higher. Some do 3.2, some 3.5...just depends on the sorority.

Would help to know who has what requirements, would save girls some heartache. My niece said that the top tiers generally don't accept below a 3.4-3.6.
For the record, I don't have a horse in this race. Just curious, from what I hear from others who have or are going through.

I know my sorority has a minimum of 3.2 or we cut you first round. Some sororities are 2.8, others can be as high as 3.8.

I think you had to have at least a 3.0 to participate.

There was a girl this year who received a bid with a 2.82, but it could have been based strictly on her personality!

Usually an upperclassman better have a higher GPA - not worth the risk if they are only going to be there 3 or less years. Most groups want a 3.5 GPA higher for upperclass - some will risk lower GPA and these are even some of the top.
