should i even rush?

Hey everyone. I’m from far out of state with no connections to auburn. I’m wondering if I should even bother rushing because from what I’ve read on here (I know this isn’t the most reliable sources of information but still) even gorgeous girls with great grades and involvement and all their recs get cut from pretty much all of houses on the first day. I don’t care about tiers that much but I just want to have more options instead of being put to the side just because I don’t know people here. I have good grades, a little bit of involvement, and I’d be able to get all my recs but I’m like in the appearance department and I don’t know if it’d be worth it to rush.
Do unconnected girls really have that hard of a rush here or is it just something people on here say? Should I even bother rushing?
Sorry for rambling. Just so confused. Thanks to anyone who answers .

You will never get a bid if you don't rush. This site is not what real life in sororities at Auburn, or rush, is like. There are plenty of sororities here and you don't have to be 'connected' to get a bid. What you do have to have is poise and confidence and a good personality. If you are feeling inferior because of not knowing anyone or because of your looks then it will affect your conversations and the impressions you make at houses. Do some polishing and believe in what you have to offer and get off this site.

I don’t know anyone who didn’t get a bid during recruitment last year. I know there are some but not many. Honestly it is really hard if you’re not connected I was 2nd in my class (but it was a small school) and president a scholarly club and captain of my varsity team and still didn’t get a very good sorority but still didn’t get dropped from some very great sororities! I would just go in with an open mind and ignore all the ranks on here because most are biased. You will find sweet and cute girls in every sororities and rush usually works out for the best and you get put with the sorority where most your sisters will be like you!
