How many pledges do most fraternities have already, I'm from out of state and am curious to what disadvantage I have over local kids.

I've heard that Lamda Chi already has 15+ kids.

Most fraternities save about 5 bids for rush week unless they've just had a poor showing over the summer.

How many kids have accepted bids at most fraternities by this point?

i got several bids and didnt go to a single summer rush event. our fraternity will probably have 10 kids or so accept before the end of the summer. most fraternities give out bids before formal rush week. formal rush is kinda a joke so go to the houses/parties before then and you'll be fine.

This is what it's currently looking like with the top fraternities.. (Aproximately)
KA: 40 (will give out 5-10 more)
Sigma Nu: 40 (will give out 5-10 more)
Fiji: 50 (will give out 5-10 more)
Beta: 40 (will give out around 5 more)
SAE: 35 (will give out 10-15 more)
Theta Chi: 25 (will give out 15-20 more)
Sigma Chi: 30 (will give out 10-15 more)
Sig Ep: 20 (will give out 20-30 more)
Lambda Chi: 20 (will give out up to 20 more)
Sigma Pi: 20 (will give out 10-20 more)

How accurate are these numbers really? I know my fraternity is on there and it's not correct so where are you getting your information?

your right, mine on there too and we sure as hell haven't even give out that many bids yet. i d say we might be talking to that many at this point but most fraternities want to wait till everyones back to make sure they dont have an issue with someone

I know KA, Sigma Nu, Fiji, and Theta Chi are pretty dang accurate within 3 give or take. I have a good hunch on Beta and SAE. Sigma Chi, Sig Ep, Lambda Chi, and Sigma Pi I just made educated guesses so I apologize for those four probably being inaccurate.

I'm in one of the "pretty dang accurate" fraternities and your way off. I literally just texted my friend in Sig Nu and ask him if they had 40 pledges yet and he told me they weren't even close to that yet (they obviously will have 40 or so by the end of rush). I'm assuming your a Theta Chi for a couple of reasons. My roommate from freshman year got a bid from Theta Chi by going to a single summer event and I actually got one there the first time I went to a party at your house. Just because Theta Chi throws out bids as fast as they can in the summer and fall doesn't mean other fraternities do.

KA is coming up on 35 pledges. Go onto Facebook and search "2013 Auburn KA Pledge Class." It's a closed group but you can see who all of their new pledges are. There's 31 in the group and a few more they bidded that don't have Facebook.

House parties when school starts is the way to go. You can go to formal rush to officially accept or receive your bid but be sure you've gone to events before hand so people know who you are or you're screwed

I went to the last Camp War Eagle and in my group was guys from all over (Mainly Bham, Montgomery and Atlanta). Most of us had all taken our bids over the summer. Of those of us who had pledged these were the numbers...KA - 38, SN - around 35, Theta Chi - 25, Sig Ep - 19 and FIJI - over 40. All these guys I met were cool guys and excited about these fraternities. We had all gone to the same houses (these and a couple of others) and pledged where we had friends, some were legacies (others did not go where they were legacies), felt comfortable, had fun, etc. I don't see what the big deal is about numbers. All are very similar...FIJI for sure has been giving out the most bids. We all talked about that but so what. The others were all the same - giving out bids at bigger parties as opposed to fewer at smaller parties - but again who cares. As far as I can tell - KA, SN, OX, BETA, SAE, SX are doing things at the same pace and FIJI is the only one different. I just don't get what the big deal is and honestly all of these fraternities are similiar and good. Had fun at their parties and you can't go wrong with any of them. Go to the before school parties. I know the one I pledged is having 1 or 2 before classes start.

You may or may not be one of the dumber people to ever post on here. You aren't a freshman.

Let me get this straight. In 1 camp war eagle group there were "KA - 38, SN - around 35, Theta Chi - 25, Sig Ep - 19 and FIJI - over 40". . . .. .You do understand there are several camp war eagle sessions over the entirety of the summer right? Brains like that I'm assuming you're a KA.

I was an out-of-state student and didn't go to any rush events until school started. There's a few weeks between the beginning of school and formal rush, so you'll have time to see which fraternity is the fit for you.

Agree with Weagle. You will have plenty of time to see who you fit in with the best. Lot of great fraternities (all the ones mentioned on here and more). Go with your roommate and friends to the band parties prior to "formal" rush and get to know people. Introduce yourself and meet the brothers. Formal rush is a few days and you can meet people there as well. If a friend has already pleadged a fraternity then go with him and let him show you around. Don't get stressed. The CWE comment - I think the kid was saying there was one guy from each of those pledge classes (5 guys) who was at CWE and that's how he knew those numbers...that's possible. That's how I read it anyway.

From what I've been told, they have around these numbers:
KA 40
Fiji 45
SN 40
Beta 30
SAE 30
OX 25
SX 25
Sig Ep 30
FH 20
