how come...

by: pnm

How come at this school unless you know girls in all the houses really well, you get cut on the first day by all but the bottom five houses? It’s really discouraging to read that. Even if you have great grades and involvement and conversations you still seem to get cut. At other schools it’s not like that, except maybe Ole Miss. So why is it like that here? Genuinely just curious, no hate.

"It's really discouraging to read that"...if you mean that you are reading that on here then you need a serious reminder that this site is not a legitimate source of information for Greek life at Auburn. First of all: yes, girls that members already know do have an advantage because...well, they already know them. They are known from high school or through family and friends or summer camp. Chapter legacies are a priority as well. These things are true at every school, and they make sense, right? But...there are no guaranteed bids for any of these connected girls, no matter what, and ALL sororities are ALWAYS open to amazing pnm's who are not on our radar at first but who show up and impress us. These girls come through recruitment every year and every house will try hard to get them. Second thing to keep in mind: these "bottom five" houses are FULL of beautiful, fun, sweet, wonderful sisters who are some of the best women you will meet at Auburn. "Bottom" sorority members are still "top" women at Auburn - all houses have to cut pnm's during recruitment, all houses have great social schedules, all houses are well-respected. Perhaps you'll be fortunate to get in one. Keep your mind open and don't depend on greekrank to tell you how your recruitment will go.
