How hard is it for out of state girls with no connections to keep a full card each round? Will you really get cut from most houses even if you have great grades and involvement?

I'll be real for a sec, NO ONE I know from oos had a full schedule. Only bama girls and it hurt to be cut because I didn't have connections and a ton of girls dropped/were cut from oos. Every single one of the girls from my pi chi group, which had like 13ish and 2 from bama and the rest oos, got dropped down to under 5 on the second day while the bama girls had full schedules and girls I knew from other groups faced the same things as well. I don't know how the process works from the other side, so idk could've just been my group and the people I know's groups but just brace yourself. If you get a full schedule, that's great, but just prepare to not. I wish someone had been real with me because so many people told me I wouldn't be cut and auburn isn't as intense and when I did get cut down to 3 on the first day, it hurt so bad because it was unexpected

So you’re telling me the girls from middle-of-nowhere, alabama had full cards even when they probably had the same number of connections as any other oos girl? or are we talking about top PNMs who were obviously the most popular girl at their high school? Give me a break. Not every single OOS pnm gets cut to 3 houses especially considering how many oos girls come through rush. There are obviously other factors at play than just being oos.

Yes, it can happen. nobody is saying it absolutely cannot ever happen. But it's only best to be truthful and have someone manage their expectations. People with no connections (tends to be Out of State but def probably Out of the South) generally don't have full cards each day and they tend to get cut from a lot, not just the "top tier." There are just only so many spots to fill on bid day and the girls in those chapters are pushing for their #1 girls from back home. It's not that they are against people from OOS or anything but think about it: if you were in that boat, you would be cutting the girl from somewhere far away with no connections. Just be prepared.

to say that you have zero chance of getting into a good house when ur oos is so false. 50% of sorority women at auburn are oos and PLENTY are in great houses. I knew no one going in, but had a strong involved gpa/ resume, made great conversations, stayed positive and tried to just have fun with it, and had a full card everyday being waaaay oos. some tops I cut, some tops cut me, but I got into a great house that I love. its all about finding your people!
