Do any of the houses consider diversity good? I have a friend that went through who is not white (I'm not white either) and she got dropped by almost everyone and ended up dropping out -she's pretty and sweet and really social and funny - she seemed really prepared too and her sister is a legacy (different school). I really want to be in a sorority but I'm scared I'll get dropped too. Should I just not bother?

Just to be clear, your friend is the legacy, not your friend's sister. A legacy is the sister, mother, daughter of an initiated member. With that cleared up, legacies get released all the time; they are not an automatic bid. And you said she got dropped by almost everyone, so she did have houses back that still wanted her. It is too bad that she didn't give those houses a chance before choosing to drop out. Pretty and sweet, social and funny is all great, but there are so many other considerations when houses determine best fit. Your friend might not have made the GPA cut for certain houses, or did not have her recs, or resume or conversations could have been fine but not as good a fit as other pnm's. No one knows for sure why they were released, but being not white is not at all an automatic cut. Plenty of white girls have had the same experience you described. And to reiterate, she did have houses left. Everyone is considered on her own merits. Don't count yourself out. yes, you should bother, but keep a more open mind than your friend.
