rushing oos

Hi guys! I’m planning on applying to and hopefully coming to Auburn next year and going through rush. I was reading the post about getting cut for not having any connections. I am from the North so obviously I don’t have any connections. Is there anyway I can possibly connect with some girls in sororities here, or would it be weird to reach out to them? If not, what are some ways I can help myself get more invites to the next round? More recs? More impressive stuff on my resume? Thanks for any help you guys can give, I am pretty clueless about this stuff because no one in my family is Greek!
