by: RelaxSororities honestly shouldn’t even be ranked because we’re truly all the same at heart. Just large groups of women wanting to make lifelong friendships and have the college experience we’ve only ever dreamed of. Stop worrying what house you’ll be in based on its superficial ranking. Find the people who your values most align with and go from there. I have plenty of friends who pledged a sorority just based off its “rank” and are miserable because they can’t connect with anyone the way they thought they could. At the end of the day, no ones going to ask you what your sorority was ranked. If they ask anything it’ll be, “are you in a sorority? Do you love it?” And I truly hope that your answer is yes.

You’re right- there is a house for everyone, however some girls genuinely get screwed over from the sorority that would fit them best just because of 1-3 people’s opinions. It has become a trend where there are girls who get dropped from houses that aligned with their interests (philantrophies sisterhoods, even legacies) just because of these quick judgement opinions. Thankfully, I never had this problem but girls in my pichi group eventually dropped out of rush because they didn’t have anything in common with the sororities that were left with them. Sororities at auburn are genuinely an amazing expirence and opportunity but I do believe there is a flaw in the way some houses are ranking these girls :/

I agree with this. I think it’s pretty unfair that a lot of girls are just pulling their best friends from high school when they don’t fit in the sorority, which means girls who actually DO have stuff in common with the sorority aren’t asked to come back. Or in a lot of cases how pretty girls will get a spot over a not so pretty girl who is 10x more qualified. And as an active there’s nothing we can do about it especially if nobody else is fighting for a girl we love when we know in all our heart she would be perfect for us. It seems shallow sometimes and I know it has to be like that but I wish there was another way without it being high school 2.0.
