question for actives!
by: ///Based on what your sororities have done in the past, what is the chance of a sophomore getting into a sorority thru COB if they have a 2.9 and rushed their freshman year? (They didnt get a bid freshman year bc they only preffed one of their two sororities) And also, is it likely for a sophomore who rushed freshman year to get a cob?

PNMs best chances for a bid will always be during formal recruitment, simply because there are more bids to give out based on quota. COB doesn’t always happen and even when it does, a sorority may have just a handful( or less) spaces to fill. Those typically go to good friends of new members or members. And there is no guarantee that any sorority will be able to COB.
Had you not (suicided) SIPed, you would’ve received a bid. You were on the bid list for the 2 sororities whose prefs you attended. You were just not high enough on the bid list of the one you listed on your MRABA before they hit quota. Because you SIPed, that disqualified you from a quota addition possibility.
You do not have a competitive GPA, you are a sophomore, you rushed last year, and did not like at least one of your pref choices. What have you accomplished this past year that will score you the sorority you think you belong in? I think you are going to be disappointed.

Sounds like this girl was way too picky to begin with. COB is iffy for even the best girls. Having rushed as a freshman and obviously getting released from her target house(s) and now with a 2.9, she is off the radar for COB unless she has some VERY good friends in a house that would pull hard for her, and even then her grades might make it impossible. As said above, did she do anything her freshman year that would make her a total stand out now? Her best chance is to go through formal again and be prepared to be a lot more open to any house that would want her. All houses have sisterhood and a great social life. All houses are worth joining. Being that picky just eliminates what could be a great life experience.
