talking points
by: PnmHi! I was wondering if anyone had any kind of advice on things to talk about (and not talk about) when going through rush, especially on specific days. I don’t have anyone Greek in my family and am a first generation college student, so I don’t really know much about it! Thanks!

The actives should lead the conversations, so don't worry about subjects to bring up. This is your chance to show your personality, so except for questions like 'what's your major' and stuff like that, short perfunctory answers are not the way to go. Talk to us in your own words and style and be yourself. Do not talk about boys or partying; offer no opinions on other houses, other PNM's, or other actives; do not complain about the process of recruitment or the weather or whatever, just keep it positive and stay poised. You are trying to make personal connections with each person you talk to. The actives will be switching around with each other during each party so everyone can talk to as many people as possible within the time allotted.
