importance of recs

I know this varies by sorority but in general how important are recs? Which sororities put the most emphasis on them? Which sororities don’t care that much?

Get recs for EVERY house! Every sorority has a different policy regarding recs so it’s good to have at least one for every house. It also looks good on your part if you took the time to get one

Having a rec will not get you a bid, but not having a rec could get you cut. We must have a rec on you to offer you a bid. If it comes down to a girl we like with a rec vs a girl we like without a rec then it's an easy cut for not having a rec. If we LOVE you we will get the rec ourselves, but this is a lot of trouble with not much time to do it so it's only done if necessary for a chosen few. Don't be an easy cut; most girls get their recs so get your recs too.
