junior transfer rushing sorority
by: anonymousIs it allowed? Would it be a disadvantage? Overall a well rounded, outgoing, pretty girl with a good head on my shoulders. CLASSY. However I am not from the South (out of state - California) and am looking to transfer to Auburn to be a part of a school that I think truly encapsulates college. The traditions excite me and I need a change of pace. Thoughts????

Of course it's allowed, and the only disadvantage would be if it didn't work out for you. Could you move forward at your new school if you didn't get a house you really wanted? At this point, it is not about you being from so far out of state as it is that you will be a junior. Your college grades and honors and involvement are super important as well as good recs, and some houses will automatically cut you for not being a freshman. But you still have a chance. If you are open-minded and understand not to take anything personally then you should rush.
