Auburn is fun but its very different. Its a watered down version of greek life but its very sweet. If in state many just stick with those that were in same high school, so you have to want to branch out and meet new people. Also at AU if you dont get in the dorm which many do not you have to force yourself to mix and mingle to open up your circle. Bama is a larger mix of oos in greek life but old row does stick together more. Bama is a truer version of greek life with the houses, it gives everyone a chance to gather more and get to know more people I think. And the dorms at Bama really help to meet alot of people, all freshman are required to live in them. If you are not into partying I would not go to Bama, every frat and soro at Bama have huge swaps monthly plus formals, at least 2/3 a semester. Bama tailgates are parties at every frat with full open bars and many w bands, and after the game. Auburn is harder academically so weekday parties arent as much because you need to study, Bama there is almost something everyday of the week so you have to tell yourself no and focus on academics or you wont make it.

Auburn Pro: Everybody knows there are tiers, but there's honestly not a lot of difference between chapters. Plus, the Auburn spirit encourages Greek unity, Pan love, and respect for non-Greeks.
Bama Con: The Old Row/New Row divide and Machine B.S. that permeate every aspect of Greek life, which encourages a sense of entitlement and disrespect for "lesser" houses and independents.
