You can get into a sorority as a sophomore but ti will be MUCH harder, some will only accept freshmen and several others you have to be better than the other freshmen around you. But it's not impossible and multiple girls do it. There was a sophomore in my pi chi group and she had a pretty full schedule the entire week and eventually became a sigma kappa.

Legacies sometimes make a difference and sometimes don't. Almost all sorority are required to bring back their legacies for the second round but after that it depends on what sorority. Phi Mu for example only likes their legacies if they look like the typical Phi Mu, blonde hair, model thin, lots of make-up (Don't get mad at me Phi Mu it's true). Other sororities make more excuses for their legacies so they can stay longer.

I will say though, get as many references as you can, some people say it doesn't make a difference but it sometimes decides if you get invited back or not to some of these sororities. Almost all other girls going through recruitment will have at least one reference letter so I would try to get multiple to give yourself a better chance.

I wish you all the luck and hope you have a great recruitment!
