by: TransferIm a transfer student coming in from a small school in Ga. What are considered to be the "Top Tier" fraternities? and will me being a transfer hurt my chances at getting a bid?

Pike, Lambda Chi, Phi Tau, Sigma Pi, Phi Delt, ATO

Pretty much all the other colonies and recent 'Phi" additions as I can't tell them apart.

This might be the first time I've ever seen anyone put Phi Delt in the Big 6. I'd put Theta Chi, Fiji, Lambda Chi, Sig Ep, and maybe Sigma Pi before Phi Delt. Your Big 6 is KA, Beta, Sigma Nu, SAE, Theta Chi, and Sigma Chi

That's funny cause I don't see Phi Delt up there. Phi Delt is Phi Delta Theta, Phi Gamma Delta is Fiji. Do you need to go learn your Greek alphabet pledge?

Yeah I've never seen anyone confuse Phi Delt and Fiji before. My guess is that guy is either a pledge or a member of a quasi-Greek club that doesn't drink and really loves Chi O.

This post is laughable. The 6 you named are simply cliche names here at Auburn. KA, Fiji, and SAE are the only fraternities that have always been top tier for decades and probably are there to stay. Before 9-10 years ago, Beta was considered lower middle tier forever and now some see them as top 3. Theta Chi is in the stage that Beta was in 8 years ago; they're considered top tier now and all the top dogs on campus don't like it, just like how Beta was hated on hard as new boy in the top tier list. Sigma Nu is very good and is lookin like they're gonna stay top 5 for a while. Sigma Chi is far overrated. They had their 15 mins of fame for a few years in the late 90s and early 00s. Fact is that SX has been slowly declining and is not much of a top tier anymore; all they have is their name. Sig Ep has always been like a roller coaster. For a few years they're top tier and then they're average middle tier again. Now, they're on that upward climb once again and are upper middle tier and rising. Lambda Chi is also back on their way up. They had an unfortunate probation setback after their badass Wiz Khalifa party a couple years ago, but now they're rising back to the top.
So, please get all your facts straight and get rid of all the bias before you post.

I agree with the guy above^. I'd put Theta Chi above Sig Chi all day, but not above KA, Sig Nu, Beta, SAE or Fiji. Here's the true list:
Big 6: KA, Sigma Nu, Beta, SAE, Fiji, Theta Chi
Next best: Sigma Chi, Sig Ep, Lambda Chi
The rest don't matter including FH. Anyone that puts them in even the top 10 is either a FH or doesn't attend Auburn

You must be some Sigma Pi who hates Sig Ep and can't get over Theta Chi making the leap. They're both good and Theta Chi is debatably better than Sigma Chi right now.

Hahahaha the fact that you immediately point a finger at sigma pi is pathetic. They don't have any problems with sigep anymore and they even supported their candidate for SGA president. But I'm pretty sure you are a theta chi because you losers have nothing else to do but sit on this website and try to convince everyone you're top tier. The fact that you guys can't even afford to get gorilla Zoe without splitting it with another fraternity shows what bad shape y'all are in.

its funny to read over all these comments. Theta Chi is not top tier, and neither is Sig Ep. When did they "make the leap?" over spring break? the only people that would put them in that category are people in those fraternities. they are both middle tier along with sigma pi. big 6 are: KA, beta, fiji, SAE, SN, SX everyone knows that, its been stated in this specific thread multiple times. just ask girls from good sororities they'll tell you the same thing. and if you disagree with that you are most likely somewhere in the deep depths of new row

I agree with @haha it's obvious cause theta chi and sig ep don't get respect on campus from other fraternities so they come on this website and boost their "ranking" and reputation to put on a front for incoming rushees that look here for guidance with rushing. Half this site is bull and half is somewhat true. If you have to self rank you aren't top tier....you need to let go

All of these posts that hate on Theta Chi and Sig Ep are obviously the same person. I'd be surprised if Theta Chi wasn't getting hated on hard. Being new to the top tier list, they're like the pledges of the Big 6 and are gonna catch heat until they prove that they can continue to hang with the big boys. So far, Theta Chi has shown that they are good enough to be top tier but that could change at any moment until they can consistently get solid pledge classes.
And I also personally agree that SX has been below expectations lately. They've lost their Big 6 slot to Theta Chi in my opinion until they show me something different.
