how hard is it to rush as a sophomore
by: ConfusedHello again, I posted the other post about not liking the sorority I got a bid from and being devastated. I have been trying though for those of you who have told me to keep trying and will continue trying this week. But, I just wanted to know how hard it would be to rush as a sophomore? Obviously I would have to do great in school this year which I already want to do regardless of sororities. Any advice on that?

it's a lot more difficult than people lead on. if you got a bid from a bottom sorority your freshman year you'll probably end up at a bottom sorority again sophomore year (if you even get a bid at all). you'll probably be invited back to fewer parties just because of the fact you're a sophomore. just keep that in mind, it's not easy.

I rushed as a sophomore and only got invited back to one sorority for sisterhood and Preference. They happened to be a good sorority and I got a bid from them and it is the perfect place for me but be prepared that it is really hard. You will be cut from many sororities simply because you are a sophomore even if you have a great GPA and are involved. I'm speaking from my own experience.

Something dramatically different will have to happen to get better results. You'll need improvement in grades, looks, involvement, and widen your circle of friends. Even then, you may end up worse off. A lot of houses have once cut always cut policies and they will always be out of your reach.
