formal rush

by: Rushee

Can some one tell me a little about how formal rush works and how fraternities decide to give their remaining bids out? Also, could someone tell me about how many bids most upper middle tier fraternities give out?

You show up all dressed up to the houses, talk to all the guys there, they decide on how much the like you and decide if they want to give a bid.
Most middle to upper tier fraternities give out 35-50 bids total, but most of the upper tier is filled up

Since you know that most upper tier are filled do you have any idea on the numbers they have taken compared to middle tier?
Is Lambda Chi still hurting for pledges at 18 like they were after summer or is it like everyone said that they started throwing out bids to anyone at their first fall party?

Sure
Big houses are sitting at upper forties for the most part, there's a couple that might throw one or two more bids to out of state guys but likely won't choose any one from formal rush.

Middle people are sitting in the 30s to my knowledge. Sigma Pi, Sig ep, and most of new row are hovering around 35. Pike has more like 40. I don't know about lambda chi.
