rushing

I wasn't able to go to any rush events over the summer since I'm out of state. Do fraternities still have rush events and give out bids after school starts but before formal rush

Yes most do. The top ones are mostly filled up by then with only a couple spots left for formal rush.

I was an out of state rushee too and don't worry about not making it over the summer. Most fraternities know that not everyone can make the drive down, and want at least some out of state diversity. Go to as many places as you can during syllabus week and meet as many people as you can. Most likely you will get a bid at the fraternity you like the most/fit in with the best.
