sophomore rush?

by: whatever

As a sophomore who is very much out-of-state and didn't rush freshman year, would rushing in the fall be worth it and would it be much harder to get a bid? I don't care much about getting a bid from a 'top tier' sorority or anything.

You should consider Tri Sig!

If you want to rush, do it! There are definitely some sororities that won't give you a bid, but there are plenty that will be willing to extend you a bid if they like you and if you're grades are decent!
If formal recruitment doesn't work out it's worth it to give Tri Sigma a look!

As someone who is not familiar with Greek life, would a sophomore new member feel out of place in the pledge class?

Pledges upperclassmen many times make better alumae because they're not burned out and they bring a certain maturity and sophistication to the sorority

And they also make better seniors and exec members for the same reason; not being burned out.

I was in the exact situation you are in last year.

I rushed and joined a sorority and i am so grateful i did! Definitely worth a shot.
