top tier explained

by:

So all you hear on campus and on this website is the same 6 fraternities (FIJI, Beta, Theta Chi, Sigma Nu, SAE, KA) and 5 sororities (Chi O, KD, Phi Mu, AGD, ADPi) being labeled "top tier." I want to hear some opinions as to what makes each of these groups a "top tier" above the rest.

I wouldn't say SAE and KA is on the same level as the other four.

I'd have to agree with this. I think people are holding on to the decades of prestige that KA and SAE used to have at Auburn. Gotta face facts, they aren't the fraternities of our parents anymore.

Yeah KA has the tradition and the big house, but they recruit like a middle tier and throw zero fun parties. Some campus involvement but a mediocre GPA. KD is the only top sorority still clinging on to KA and it's hurting their reputation.

SAE is half sunk because they're on the last straw with nationals and Auburn administration. One more strike and they're gone so they have to be super timid. Since their claim to fame was their party scene, they really don't have much to offer anymore.

i don't know about that because SAE has great guys. Cute and fun to hang out with. My friends and I would pick them over most other fraternities here. Still top tier...

Nobody ever said SAE had bad guys. We're saying that they are a party fraternity that can't really throw parties anymore. They aren't involved, have low GPA, and don't excel in anything else to make up for it. Can't be top tier if you aren't great at anything.

ΦΓΔ- Best "GPA/Involvement" fraternity. Runs most campus organizations/elections, sustains top tier sorority pull, and recruitment.

ΒΘΠ- Best "preppy" fraternity with debatably the best looking guys on campus. Sustains top tier sorority pull, recruitment, and throws good parties.

ΘΧ- Best "all-around" fraternity. Also debatably the best looking guys on campus and known for their party scene. Sustains top tier sorority pull, recruitment, high GPA, good on-campus involvement, and owns the best house.

ΣΝ- Best "party" fraternity. Known for their kickoff Azzizz party in the fall along with their many other big parties throughout the year. Sustains top tier sorority pull and recruitment.

ΚΑ- Best "traditional" fraternity. Built around southern heritage and hosts some of the oldest traditions like Old South and Convivium. Sustains top tier sorority pull and owns the best house behind Theta Chi.

ΣΑΕ- Oldest fraternity at Auburn. Not the best at any one thing and have been getting slammed with social probations. However, being they have over 120 years of tradition and excellence at Auburn, which deserves recognition. Also able to sustain top tier sorority pull and own the best house property.

Also if it wasn't implied already, Fiji has the best GPA of the top tiers and highest on campus behind Farmhouse.

I like how this explains why each of them are top tiers. I think this gives a lot of clarity and truth to a website that can be pretty biased.

I recommend those rushing fraternities and sororities look at this if you want an accurate depiction of Auburn's top houses in greek life.
