why do fraternities care so much

by: Not a fan

Why do some of the fraternities (KA, Fiji, Snu, SAE) act so exclusive about which sororities they hang out with? I have walked into pledge parties, swaps and even their larger events and felt so excluded, almost like I wasn't supposed to be there just because I'm not a KD, Phi Mu or Chi O. I hate how much tiers matter at this school....

I've heard girls say things like "oh, you're a sigma pi? Phi mus aren't supposed to talk to y'all, sorry"

I'd like to bring this back because it really is a problem at Auburn. Some of the sororities are just as bad too (KD, AGD). They refuse to branch out of the top 5 or 6 fraternities, just like those fraternities OP named don't branch out from the top 5 or 6 sororities. But it's not like you can't be top of you let in groups outside of the "top tier." Just look at Beta, Theta Chi, Chi O, ADPi, and Phi Mu. Those are all well respected top tier fraternities/sororities that hang out with everybody. If the other "top" groups would be more like them, our greek life would be wayyy better!

News flash to whoever took the time to write this bs; frats date whoever they want. This includes the following: gdi's (hot gdi vs a not so hot sororityty better believe it), girls from other schools ( Lotta Bama ,UGA , Ole Miss girls got asked to frat formal/ date nights this year, and wait for it "lower/ middle" tier sororityties ( too many to count in this tier group , who are the total pkg with looks, brains and an actual personality) and yes the typical hot top tier ( some being the total pkg and some could take a page from the "not top tiers" and find some chill and a decent personality).
You can lift your chin off the floor after you finish uttering "oh ma gawd"

"sororityties"... Have to say I've never heard that term used at Auburn and I'm on my 3rd year here. That was a sweet post, but you're def not from Auburn.
