Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 5.0 I agree, but they are all like that really. If there is an alum who has worked hard and her daughter is not that great, there's nothing wrong with taking her. After all, looks are not everything in life.

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 5.0 that what the poster said is that KD pledges so many great girls that those who are not all that great are hidden by those who are so good. (That can happen in any group of course. If you have a fantastic group of 60 women and only 10 who do not measure up to those 60, they are not noticed as much.) Love my girls!

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 4.4 Believing in the fantasy....so basically you are saying that even the "not so great" legacy girls are so far above everyone else on campus that it's okay to take them. That comment sums up the whole KD attitude. Obviously KD is NOT for everyone. You should apologize for that comment to the many sweet nice KD's who are not arrogant and self absorbed.

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 5.0 Its not a problem with taking a group of girls that you do not really want since you will still end up with a lot of great girls in a pledge class due to so many legacies to choose from. Those that are not up to par will never be seen as it is in most sororities.

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 4.6 Legacy here! KD was NOT for me. Tons of great girls , but many have a materialistic, mean spirited side. Truth. They do put on a stellar rush!

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 5.0 I agree about having to take some girls, but all do. You have to keep alumni happy for their support. Good group over-all. All the sororities are very close now in rankings, but KD does come out on top due to the very thing that could hurt each rush...the legacy list is long and there's lots to chose from as they all want KD. GO GREENIES!

When you have really good girls, taking some that aren't up to that level just balances out the group. All the sororities are like that to some degree. Being a legacy from a mother who went to college at that specific school and who has worked hard with the chapter should get some compensation in the form of pledging her daughter. Not all legacies get that privilege, but it does pay for the mom to be a strong alumni.

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 5.0 probably the top legacy groups are KD, XO, ADP and AGD. However, I agree also that having to take many of these legacies can bring a group down since when you MUST take certain girls due to the mom, you do not always get the best. That realization has allowed all the groups to get some wonderful girls who would have been better choices for the top groups except they took lower level girls to satisfy alums. It has helped even out the groups in the long run.

Kappa Delta - ΚΔ Sorority at Auburn University - AU 4.6 KD isn't the only sorority at Auburn with strong alum support. There are a few other traditional sororities that have equal alum strength. Kd is great, but they are not the only sorority that has their pick of legacy girls. Phi Mu, ChiO, ADPi, and Alpha Gam all have strong alum groups. My point is that having a strong alum group does not make a sorority number one. I like all of the others listed better than KD personally---yet, KD is great---just not MY number one.
