Auburn University - AU Greek Life Reviews

Joining a fraternity sucks unless you are in the so-called "Big 4" aka Theta Chi, Sigma Nu, KA, and Fiji. It's stupidly superficial around here. Sorority girls give total preferential treatment of those guys, disregarding the fact that they're extremely arrogant and no better than anyone else, only because they're in the "best" fraternities. Same goes for parties and literally anything those houses do. Don't get me wrong, I really like my brothers, but I didn't come here to relive high school 2.0

The administration has teamed up with Panhellenic and IFC to systematically destroy everything enjoyable about greek life. As if Auburn wasn't already the lowest caliber greek system in the SEC, the top brass tries to go lower. To top it off, the girls in the sororities here, and one of the fraternities (KA), are some of the most pretentious daddy's girls (and momma's boys) I've ever witnessed. Go to Bama, UGA, Miss, or anywhere else in the conference.

Coming here out of state I would have thought I was going to get the full Greek life experience. Not anymore these auburn admin's have shut down practically all the fun. To you high school seniors: GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

As a senior here I wil say this to all prospective high schoolers thinking about auburn. Don't come here. The university treats the fraternities and sororities like children with so many overarching rules and unnecessary preventative policies. The Queer in charge of IFC is ruining fraternity life here, and Auburn will see a drop in freshman enrollment. If I knew the direction this PC ridden campus would be headed when I was a senior in high school, I would've chosen Bama or Ole miss. Simply stated Auburn is not the Wild, badass Greek life if used to be, and I hope that the school takes a huge hit from its actions.

The greek life here is under attack by the Auburn administration. The fraternities are held hostage worse than ever before for nothing. Auburn forces IFC to headhunt the big named fraternities in hopes of kicking at least one off a year. The bigger name the your fraternity you're in, the larger target you have on your back. Rush has become a complete gamble on if you'll even have the fraternity you pledged 1 or 2 years later. I'd stay away or go to another SEC school if you're looking to go greek.

Welcome to Auburn, where the administration has us all by the balls and launches investigations if we do so much as sneeze the wrong way. Pledgeship? Nonexistent. Parties? Moderated. Better not get any ideas about secretly training your "respected new members" because you'll be hit with an allegation before that thought even leaves your prefrontal cortex. Auburn has become as PC America as it gets. Not recommended.

It's pretty much impossible to break into the exclusive "top tier" if your organization is not already. Sigma Nu, Theta Chi, KA, Fiji, Alpha Gam, Phi Mu, KD, Chi O, ADPi. Remember those names because they pretty much run the social scene and control rush every year. They also almost exclusively only hang with each other. It's very stupid and basically High School 2.0 but it's whatever. Auburn is still a strong greek school.

Overall a good SEC greek school, but the sororities here bring it down. We don't have houses and our rush system is flawed beyond repair. Chapters across the south have heard about how badly Auburn's sororities treat legacies and how messed up the recruitment is.
