the top sororities/fraternities

can anyone explain to me why competition means so much? when i was a new member, all i cared about was getting into a house where i felt the best vibes and saw the chapter as people i could be friends with. i didn't even realize there was so much hate/competition between houses in greek life until coming upon this site. and i don't even see why this site should be relevant, but i worry that new members are going to come on here and see this and just be turned off by uc irvine greeks in general.

there is no real hate/drama between houses, just the perceived drama that this younger generation of greeks see. older heads know wsup and don't use this site because its all bs lol
