this website

Honestly, I know I shouldn't let others' opinions influence me so much, but this website is really turning me off to considering rushing. I feel like I won't get a bid from some of the "top" sororities, and if I join a "lower tier" one then I won't really be taken seriously. I'm not interested in it for the titles or prestige, I'm in it for the sake of finding a home among an intelligent and strong group of girls who accept me for who I am and help me grow into a better woman. I'm a second year and I had plannedo n rushing, but knowing that Theta and a few others aren't even doing Winter COB, and that I probably won't have a chance for some of my other choices, I feel like I shouldn't even try at this point. I might wait until fall, but would it even be worth it?

Just because Theta isn't rushing, doesn't mean Gamma Phi and or Tri Delta won't give you a bid back. Those 3 are basically breathing down each other's necks, so if you have a shot in theta, you have just as good a shot in the other 2. Give it a try and see if you like them! And don't only rush top houses winter quarter, check out SK and Pi Phi if you're feeling a little nervous about getting a bid back.

just because theta/the others you're checking out isn't doing rush doesn't mean you should just drop them, odds are they're doing spring if anything. you should just hit some of the girls up from chapters and get to know them, get to feel the vibes! there's no rush/time limit on when to join and i honestly regret doing winter recruitment instead of waiting until the formal fall recruitment. take my advice ~~
