winter recruitment
by: regretful
I took part in fall formal recruitment and got to preference night with 2 of the top 4 houses when I kind of chickened out and dropped recruitment
I didn't keep in contact with any of the girls I talked to becaue I thought it would be kind of awkward but I know that I really liked them and really wanted to be a part of their sorority but I was kind of scared of balancing work/school/whatever.
If I did winter COB at those houses again do you think they would look down on me for dropping in the first place? and if Im interested in looking at another house that dropped me after the first round would they remember that they dropped me?
Also any advice for winter recruitment? like what is the ideal sorority girl? sorry for all the questions, I just really want to be in a sorority now and I feel like I lost my chance for dropping fall since I heard winter is super competitive :(

Be yourself. Unfortunately we have to play a role, so I recommend asking about what kind of events go on and show the girl you are interested in her as well. Be willing to open up a bit about yourself. Don't talk about partying. Or boys. If you have a boyfriend its fine but do not go on about him. One time a girl bored me to death talking about him basically the whole time. Have good posture and look engaged. If you really like the girl you talk to, when she gets bumped by another girl, be genuine about saying you enjoyed talking to her and say her name as well.
Dress cute and classy. Makeup hair and eyebrows should be on point. Good luck! :)

The jump between Theta and Axo/Piphi is huge. Thetas are hot and fun. Axos are nice and classy, but they need to improve their relations and events. Piphi definitely needs to work on their events. Besides their few gorgeous sweet girls, some are kind of rude. Plus its pretty obvious axo and pi phi miss the days when gphi was below them. Well, when you rest on your laurels and others work really hard, that is what happens.

Aphi: if you are poised, well-put together, seem engaged about participating and doing well in school
Tridelt: if you are sweet, fun and care about participation and philanthropy
Gphi: if you are nice, genuine, positive, make the girls feel comfortable and want to be involved
Theta: if you are real, chill, fit in with the girls and they imagine you two partying together (without discussing partying)
Axo: if you are nice and get along with the girls. Also if you feel like you could contribute to their sisterhood
Piphi: if you don't mind paying higher dues because you fit in so well with the girls, overall seem poised
SK: flat out if you like the girls. Strongest sisterhood.

The role we play is selling the sorority to you. The role you play is selling yourself. Think about it like an interview.
