Yes it is needed but that is not enough. Some hot girls have to be down to hook up tho and hot guys need to flirt with girls. Be social. You also have to be involved, win some stuff whether it be philanthropies, Greek events for example Songfest, sports and be involved. Involvement means going to frat or sorority events and throwing good events like dances and philanthropy, etc. Also you have to hang out with mid frats/sororities and top frats/sororities. If you are middle no one cares if you chill with bottom houses tho just can't do only bottom.

Rank has nothing to do with your record.. Only your reputation and relations. To be a top house you need to establish strong ties with other top tier houses. Hot girls generally want to party with hot, socialable guys. So this is who the top tier frats recruit. Its all about making deep and meaningful friendships though.
