by: pnmis it realistic for me to think that I can pay dues on my own with a minimum wage job? this is the biggest issue for me..

It will be hard. Dues are pretty high no matter which chapter you join. My parents are paying out of pocket my housing and tuition but told me I was responsible for my sorority. My dues are about 375-450 a quarter so I took out a small loan (about 1200 for the year) so that I could pay that and I honestly think that was a good route to go so I didn't have to try and have a job and focus on school and my sorority, but I know girls in other chapters are up to 475 a quarter and are due towards the beginning of the quarter so you would need that money saved up well in advanced. My friends that pay for it themselves all are waitresses and other jobs that get really good tips and thats how they are able to afford it, but with just 9 dollars an hour its gonna be tight but its possible. Hope this helped :)
also side note.. Just make sure not to join the cheapest chapter(s) that you see on the pamphlet during recruitment because in the end an extra hundred won't really make a difference a quarter but being in the wrong chapter will (and I don't know what chapters are the cheapest I'm just saying don't join any chapters for the wrong reasons)

Yeah it is. New memb dues are most exp so save up for those and I agree with the 375-450 per quarter (every 2.5 months). Say u make 100 a week that is 16 hours per week with minimum wage (without tax). Which means you can pay your dues plus have extra spending money with a minimum wage job. It will be fine unless you plan on spending your paycheck on other bills.
