can't wait for the dg and alpha phi's to comment

I just wanted to say that in my opinion, I think each sorority is great in different ways. Sure I may not particularly like all the girls, but regardless I always try to reach out to everyone and return the respect I get. I have had some bad experiences with a couple chapters and mostly it was from dg and aphi. Regardless, I chose not to stereotype the entire chapter. However, I would like aphi and dg to understand the complaints do not arise from nothing because I have experienced it myself and know other girls who have. In the end, I am focusing on my chapter and how we can recruit girls that fit our ideal and be sisters for life. :)

I'm usually not the kind of person to bash others and like to see the good in others. However, I had a really negative experience with alpha phi when i went through recruitment. During the first night of recruitment I was talking to these three alpha phis and I thought they seemed really nice and were actually trying to get to know me.. But when I got up and one walked me away from them I heard one of the two still sitting there say "she doesn't really think we are going to give her a bid does she?" I almost didn't even finish recruitment after that comment. I have struggled with my weight since my early teens due to a medical condition and those girls judged me because of my weight. However, I did finish recruitment and found the perfect chapter for me. I know not every girl in alpha phi is like that but it just saddens me that that is the first thing out of their mouth.

Joining a sorority may be appealing at first based on who is the prettiest but I've had many friends DA from these chapters because girls were so mean. Also one of the said chapters had to have a counselor come in one year because they got too catty. Personally look for a house based on personality and how they respect other chapters. And just because they are a "top house" it doesn't mean they have to act like this. For example, Tri Delta is also considered a top house and I haven't ever experienced a girl for that chapter bashing on a girl in my own and they even went out of their way to ensure that they met us during sister sorority pairings. Also, axo and pi phi may not be considered top houses but the girls in these two houses have always been so sweet and welcoming towards other girls. They are accepting of everyone and always try hard.

So to pnms it's just a thought to maybe look into any of these houses before you get caught up in the whole Dg and aphi appeal.
