sorority recruitment
by: Sororitygirls
As we get closer to recruitment I have some advice for PNM's:Try your best to ignore this website it is the worst possible thing to view before recruitment.
When I was entering my first year I had a friend at another school who told me to check this website so I could join the "best" sorority. I altered my personality and acted completely unlike myself to get into what everyone (at the time) was saying was the top house.
Now as I am entering my third year I have decided that Fall quarter will be my last quarter in my chapter. I am so unhappy and have never fit in with the other girls. I wish I had given every chapter a chance and found my perfect fit. I am not saying that my chapter is bad in any way (because it's really not in fact its really good!) It just isn't for me and I feel I would've been happier elsewhere.
The point of formal recruitment is to give every house a chance and for every house to give you a chance. I didn't give every house a chance and now I regret it. I still keep in touch with girls that were in my group for recruitment that joined other chapters and it kills me a little to see how happy they are in their chapters.
I am not saying in any way that no one should join my chapter! I just think when going through recruitment its best to be yourself and have an open-mind!
With that said, happy recruitment and I hope you find your perfect match <3

couldn't agree more! I came through recruitment not know ANYTHING! To tell you the truth, I loved Tri delta, Gamma phi, and Pi Phi as my personal tops, and my bottoms were AChiO, DG, and Alpha Phi. According to this websites, 2 of my bottoms are "top houses".... but I had no idea bc I didn't know about this site. I just personally didn't like them or didn't feel comfortable in their homes, so I listed them lower on my list. It honestly depends on where you feel most comfortable and at home. This girl is completely right. If you pick a house based off of popularity, you won't know if you fit in based off of similar values and morals, and might be miserable like her for the rest of your college career.
Please don't listen to this website. I understand that it is so easy to get caught up in, I myself have participated in the gossip and slandering of other sororities and its definitely something I regret and wish I could take back. Go through recruitment with an open mind and heart, anything is possible, and let yourself find your new home. Cant wait to meet you all in the fall!

I'm SO glad I didn't know about this website when I was going through recruitment. I picked my houses based on where I saw myself, and my top two choices were both middle tier houses. The top houses were just not the right fit for me! It's all about where YOU feel comfortable. At the end of the day, You're not joining a chapter to be in the most popular house on campus. You're joining to find lifelong friends and to make the most of your college experience. That can happen in ANY chapter.
