sorority recruitment
by: Curious freshmen
I'm going to be an incoming freshmen in fall 2014. Is it common to rush as a freshmen or sophomore? Is it common to rush in the fall or spring? Which would be recommended for a freshmen? Also when I went on the tour, they mentioned how some students are in Greek life freshmen year but they choose to live in dorms...?
I would love all the advice I could get being an admitted student for fall 2014!

Most girls rushing are freshman and Sophomores. Go through fall recruitment! It's the best experience you could possibly have. You really get a feel for each chapter and you can truly decide which chapter is the right one for you. Also, and please, heed my warning: DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING ON THIS SITE. You have to find the right fit for YOU. I listened to what someone told me about a certain chapter and ended up not wanting to go back even though I really fit in there. Looking back, I wish I would have listened to my gut and not what anyone else said. Don't get me wrong, I love my chapter, but letting other opinions influence your decision can really ruin the experience for you. Now go! Enjoy your senior year! Have a great summer! We'll see you in the fall. :)

I'm gonna break it down so its super easy
1. more common to go through recruitment as a freshman but sophomores also do it
2. GO THROUGH FALL RECRUITMENT. don't do spring. highly recommend fall.
3. you cannot live in a sorority house freshman year so you will be living in the dorms no matter what

so you can't live in the sorority house your freshman year because by then it's too late, you're already in school. rush during the fall for formal recruitment. and yeah i second what the person above me said, don't listen to what people say on this site!! you have to get a feel for every chapter for yourself.
