Party Life at UCI

by:

Ik UCI isn’t considered a party school but is there any way to party even if you aren’t in Greek life? I wanna be able to party but I’m on the fence about Greek life rn because of costs, anything would be appreciated

If you are looking for a huge Greek/party scene than Uci is not for you.

I wasn’t expecting a big party scene anyways, I committed to UCI for the academics. I was just wondering if there still were parties outside of Greek life, but looks like if you want to party, you have to join a frat I assume

If you’re not in Greek life, your social life is gonna be horrible.

Thank you! I’m thinking more and more that I’ll look into joining a frat this school year

Check out multiple frats tho cause I’d say the only relevant parties are Pike, K Sig, Sig Pi, Sig Chi, Phi Psi, and Phi Delt. The best parties are either Pike or K Sig based off of the fact that other frats try and party with them but they may not be your cup of tea so check out multiple frats

Pike - has the best off campus house parties/ functions, lots of ratchet/ twerk music
K Sig - big edm heads, has a house on campus which is nice and has the best venue parties
Phi Psi - a good mix of house parties, venues, and Newport daygers
Sig Pi - best Newport parties, good mix of hip hop and house music
Sig Chi - lots of AV parties which aren’t bad but mostly kickbacks rather than parties, chill vibes
Phi Delt - typical house parties, nothing special but still relevant parties

Still check out what frats you fit in with best cause the frat you choose may party different as new classes get older, hope this helps

I transferred to UCI from community college and joined a sorority expecting to make up for the time I couldn't party in CC. Let me stress that even if you're IN greek life, there still aren't that many parties. This year I went to two "venue" parties, sorority formal, and a handful of apartment kickbacks. Most of my friends not in greek life went all year without hearing of a single party, so honestly, you gotta join if you want even the minor party scene we have here.

you're probably in a bottom tier and dont get invited lol

This is true af. Joined a sorority and there are barely any parties compared to other state schools. Venues are fun but without a major Greek row the party scene will always be lacking.

Honestly if your outgoing and can make friends you’ll get invited or find out about parties, you don’t really need greek life to party. I joined my third year for the experience and to make new friends but I partied way more my first two years without being in greek life.
