I completely agree. This site is filled with self-rankers, and haters. Most of what is said on this site is completely untrue. Many chapters just want to boost themselves up and give others a bad name, which is really sad because what happened to greek love?

Go through rush/recruitment with an open mind and a disregard of what other people say. If you love a chapter, then go for it. If you don't well then don't!! You don't want to join a chapter just because everyone says it's the best, only to loathe it after you join because you don't fit in. At the same time, you don't want to not give a "bottom" house a chance, only to wish that you did choose it after seeing what they are all about after sometime in greek life.

Each fraternity/sorority is SO different, and it's impossible to know about everything that goes on in other chapters without actually being a part of it. This is why there's so many different things said about each one on this site.

Ultimately, it's your experience, so you need to find YOUR fit!!! Not what other people think you're fit is.

while it is obvious where the self rankings are [sup phi delt], this site lets people see the general views on the fraternity/sorority scene at uci.

notice that the same couple of houses are constantly ranked at the top in the discussion section.

i agree that you have to go through rush with an open mind, but regardless rankings are based on the perceptions of others and this site is a good tool to see what the public perception of a certain frat/sorority is.
