They were relevant in sports and had pretty good parties but they were also really douchey. A lot of girls liked them but most others would say that they were hot heads that thought they were all that. They were basically like the super rich and spoiled kids that are jerks and can’t fight so they always threaten that they will sue cause their dad’s a lawyer. Uci is definitely better without them

Above poster is a hater, (im not an SAE im a sigep), in all honesty SAE was a top house on par with KSig and Phi Psi/Pike, had the best relations and were good at sports. Also heard about them having crazy parties but I was only a freshman last time they had a house in AV and it was three stories.

If they were regarded as a top house, why do people bag on Pike for basically merging with them? You would think 2 top houses merging would be a good thing but lots of people think otherwise

because that's not what a fraternity means. You don't simply merge. Two different oaths, rituals, etc. That goes against all things fraternal to just leave and merge. It is definitely not a good thing to happen.

They swore an oath to a chapter and than just went and joined another chapter and swore an oath for them. Even transferring schools you are suppose to stick to the same fraternity that you crossed for. Just goes to show how shallow Greek life at Uci can be and merging just to gain to members and people to pay. Sad and makes me wish I never attended this school

If two fraternities merging makes you sad and questions your reasoning for attending UCI you should take a serious break and reevaluate your reasons for going here...

That attitude is the reason that Greek life is going down. The laid back attitude of people not caring about the Greek life here and no loyalty is actually a disease and it’s spread to every chapter. I gave everything to my chapter and to watch some of the things happen the way it did made me question the hard work I tried to instill into my chapter. Pledges see that attitude and think that this is the way that it is. It’s why Greek life has gone down even compared to just three years ago. So yes at the end of the day I came to Uci because it was a great school and it’s going to lead me places but I want to give something back to the chapter the way they gave it to me when I was freshman. But the way things are going rn.. Greek life is going to be over in a few years unless there is a huge turn around. my chapter is one of the two that merged so it affects me deeply because I actually care about my chapters legacy

I was a freshman girl last year, which was the last year sae was a frat. I may be biased but the sae guys were some of the coolest guys I’d ever met. Like I’d never felt this way about a group of guys, but they always knew how to give you a good time and make sure you were doing okay—believe it or not they actually cared. I would get so excited when they’d throw a party and I just always wanted to be around them. I honestly probably would’ve gotten sae tatted on me haha. But yeah, I’d say a lot of people who are hating don’t really know them, bc they’re actually really hard to hate. I’m still really good friends with most of them Bc they’re actually cool and don’t really care about being a top frat, even though they were for sure #1. Okay I’m done with my rant lol love u boys always❤️
