thats why the chapters that do it are usually 50-70 members. and yes you can talk to all. it makes for better brotherhood, cause then every guy who joins is actually liked by his bros

how many bids do these frats with 100% bid rates usually give out? 10? 15?

for fall, probably like 25 or so. out of 80+ rushees who come out in total, that’s pretty exclusive. and bidding is more lenient than pledging — guys will get dropped along the way as the actives get to know them better. they have to be voted in 100% again at the end

some chapters bid almost everyone who comes out and just try to get as many as possible lol. these chapters give out sometimes up to 40 or 50 bids fall rush, but they risk them not liking each other

You don’t need to talk to 70-100 actives bro. In fact half of the actives don’t even show up so really it’s 30-40 actives for any given event.

Of the 30ish, you should definitely talk to at least 20 by your second event. Enough that they recall your face and their conversation with you. Speak with the Rush chair, the president etc. board is usually at rush events. Make a good impression and don’t give anyone anything negative to say about you. Basically hold a conversation and be normal. don’t BS or talk about things you think people in a frat want to hear. I guarantee you it’s obvious when PNMs do that and it’s always a bad look.

After the rush events the frat meets and they discuss the PNMs as a chapter. If you’ve made a positive impression on 20 people they will make an argument as to why you would be a good fit in the chapter. The remaining members of the chapter will likely take their word and vote you in. Nobody will reject you if they didn’t attend the event. That would be unfair.

But say you made a good impression on 18 and a bad one on 2, and the 2 don’t vote you in then you won’t get a bid.

Or say you made a good impression on 10/10. An active you didn’t speak with could reject you because they noticed you were shy and didn’t try to talk to many people outside those 10 you were comfortable with. Or maybe a girl told them that you were creepy and weird at a party.

The key is to just talk to people and be normal. That’s literally it.

yeah its not as complicated as people think lol. its important to give every single bro a voice on new members, makes for good brotherhood

okay so then it would make sense to re rush of you did not talk to many ppl or like didn’t go to that many events?

if you rushed and attended 2 or more events and did not get asked to come back again, or did not get a bid, then sorry you probably didn’t get voted in

Honestly going to only 1-2 events in fall is almost always a no bid (for the top 5 frats).

That’s why it’s hard to tell you anything without specifics. But based on minor details, it appears as if you didn’t make enough connections. If you went twice and they liked you, they would have reached out to you personally to come out to the invite only event.

It doesn’t hurt to rush again. Just go to all the rush events.

You’re overthinking it bro. Don’t worry about the bidding process. Don’t worry about how many bids are given out

Just go to the rush events and socialize.

If you can hold a conversation, be normal, and offer something in terms of either appearance, athletics, academics, you will get a bid from the top 5 frats.

If you can hold a conversation and are normal the mid ones will for sure bid you

If you are normal but shy, the low frats will still bid you.

From this information determine what frats you meet criteria for and rush those.

The top 5 are ksig, pike, phi psi, sigep, sigma pi

If you notice conversations getting long or stale don’t hesitate to just say, ima get more food and talk to other actives.
