which frats haze? and how bad?

any respectable fraternity keeps their pledgeship to themselves, so you’ll have a hard time knowing exactly what will happen. but that’s part of the fun. i do know ksig lost a large amount of their class last year for some events they had to do, use your imagination. otherwise most frats at uci are chill and balanced

Sigma chi has one of the easier pledge processes. I mean 6 weeks? Sounds about easy.

The relevant (top 5) frats haze. The degree of hazing isn’t all that different between them. After the SAE incident I’m not sure if frats will require drinking (some used to). Lots of pledges in each chapter have been snitching too which has watered down the hazing process.

What do you consider weird? You will be asked to perform menial tasks at random times of the day/night, be subject to physical challenges, and, at times, be treated as inferior.

With that said, it’s not that bad and you shouldn’t be afraid. The absolute worst hazing at UCI is like a 4 or 5 (out of 10) relative to SEC and BIG12 schools. Just go in with an open mind. Hazing is meant to build brotherhood. Ask any active, they will tell you that their pledge quarter is the most fun they never want to have again. It is true. After pledging you will have developed a very strong bond with your pledge class. You will feel accomplished. You will feel proud to be a [insert fraternity].

Don’t get me wrong, pledging is not enjoyable. It sucks. But after you complete it, it will give you perspective. You will be grateful it exists. And you will be left with memories that last a life time.

You will be put out of your comfort zone but at any point you are free to express that and bros of any frat are more than understanding of that concern and take it seriously. Anything you heard about some sus practices at any frats are usually rumors and untrue. Pledgeship is meant to be an exciting and memorable experience and not meant to give you ptsd (pledgeship traumatic stress disorder)
