keep alcohol out of pledgeship

seriously everyone. school years about to start and we're all excited to get some new brothers and "educate" them through the pledging process, but lets keep forced alcohol out of it.

it's a lazy and boring way of teaching pledges what it means to be part of a brotherhood. at best it creates horrible memories among the pledges and at worst it kills someone.

there are so many better tasks to build up character in pledges and make them closer with their PC so PLEASE keep alcohol out of it. we don't want to ruin another bright kids future

and for any incoming pledges, if you're getting alcohol forced on you, drop and take your pledge brothers with you before they kill someone

let's enjoy this year and show uci what greek life is all about

from my experience drinking during pledgeship can be a lot of fun, my chapter just makes sure pledges know that its optional, and usually pledges who choose not to drink but still have a blast are applauded. just avoid the culture where its forced and uncomfortable

honestly this is the best way to do it. sorry i made the title unclear but i really meant to make alcohol optional and make sure you never force it on them.

if pledges want to drink let them have it but always respect it if they decline alc and dont try to force it on the

also keep an eye on pledges who choose to drink. they feel like they have something to prove and could easily overdrink
