sorority selectiveness??

I'm an incoming junior (transfer), and I'm thinking about rushing a sorority to help me make friends as a transfer student. I wouldn't say I'm physically the type of girl that might rush, and I have pretty geeky and weird interests, so I am wondering how likely it is for me to get a bid at all here, and if any sororities are open-minded enough that would connect with and accept me. How focused on appearences are the sororities here, and are there any particular houses that are filled with more "quirky" girls? haha

Just be yourself and you'll find that there are girls like you everywhere in sororities. Don't worry you'll find your place.

UCI is so different than typical Greek schools like down in the south. If you’re a good person, if you’re friendly, if you connect either emotionally or through hobbies and interests with the girls, you can get a bid from anywhere. Appearance plays a role but it’s more like if you’re well groomed and showered rather than you need to be a tall blonde skinny girl.
