what is a frat sweetheart and how does it work?

So I've been hearing about frat sweethearts and I was wondering how they were chosen, when, and how does it work?? What does that mean to be one?

A girl that either makes your chapter look good or is super close to most of the brothers so you make her an official part of the chapter

2 types of sweethearts

A hot girl from a top house to show off your relations

A girl so close with the chapter that they vote her in as an honorary member

Can be done whenever, like picking up but more special. Some chapters take it so seriously that they’ll go a few quarters without one just to keep it real. Others will beg any cute DG to be their sweetheart to accomplish who knows what

If you’re the second type, probably a year or two at least
