sophomore during recruitment

Do sororities prefer for girls to join as freshman or do they accept some sophomores?
Is it true that recruitment is harder as a sophomore?

It's easier to get a bid to your preferred house as a freshman. Most top houses take some sophomores but not a lot

I know a few top houses who do not accept any sophomores. You would have a much easier time being a freshmen or junior.
