how does rush work?
by: New Freshman '18
I already have my resume updated and a letter of rec from my high school counselor.
I am an Eagle Scout and I have won numerous awards for community service. I have letters for three sports and I will be living in Tercero next year.
What should I talk about to get the brothers to like me? How should I dress?
Is it true that Sig Ep is no more? Because I am a legacy (Dad was a SigEp at USC '86). Honestly, i think I can get into every house but I'm just trying to see each houses' reputation.
Apparently, Sigma Chi and Pikes are the top tiers but aren't well-liked by others, and I don't want to rush a loser house.
What are your opinions?

Hey OP you are probably wondering why people are giving you a rough time on this discussion feed. I will go easy on you and tell you how you messed up. Since you just graduated high school, you are probably in the mindset that rushing a fraternity is like applying to a college ( talking about resumes, rec letters, rankings etc) when that is far from the truth. rushing a fraternity is about finding the group of people you think you can fit in the most with, have the most fun with, and learn the most fun with for the next four years. Not about joining the organization that is "top tier" or has the highest score on greek rank. At the end of the day it is about you and the people you are the most comfortable with. Don't worry about rankings or tiers, just find the best fit for you.
