rushing bottom tier fraternity

by:

so one of my good friends is in a "bottom" tier fraternity. I'm not gonna say which one but yes he's a good friend of mine, and I want to be in a fraternity as well. Is it worth joining a bottom tier fraternity at Davis? How big is their pledge class usually? Do they really exchange with most sororities(my friend told me sororities here are not picky)? Any idea would help a lot, thanks.

Rush different houses and join where you fit in the best. It's not rocket science.

Pledge class size really depends on the size of the chapter (although most bottom ones are smaller). Probably < 15 fall, closer to 10 will cross. Other quarters maybe closer to 5? Sororities here are actually pretty picky, at least the top 4. The others probably aren't too picky. If you're not in a higher tier frat you probably will not have exchanges with the top 4, or if you do it'll be once a year and with poor turnouts. It's hard to say, you should visit and see if you like the brothers. If you don't, no harm no foul, just say you feel like youd be a better fit somewhere else
