continuing junior rushing sorority

by:

I've been asked by several if I'm in Greek life but each fall Rush I've always been busy moving in, dealing with family, etc. What are my odds at getting a bid as a continuing junior ? Will top houses automatically drop me because of age? Please be brutally honest.

depends. there's a quota for frosh/soph and a separate quota for junior/senior for every sorority, meaning each house is required to take a certain percentage of juniors and seniors. this is favorable for you because very few seniors rush, meaning the pool is mostly juniors and you aren't competing with the freshman. but, sororities do question (and will ask you) why you decided to rush so late in your time at davis, so be prepared to have a good reason. i'm in one of the top sororities and am friends with many girls in the top 4 houses (in no order aphi/dg/kappa/pi phi), and every one of those houses has a handful of continuing juniors. bottom line: rush, but don't be too surprised if you do get dropped due to the higher demand for junior transfers.
